Own a Commemorative Hudson's Bay Canoe
Update - April, 2026: Note that Canadian Tire has purchased the intellectual property of the Hudson’s Bay Company and have announced they will sell their own version of the iconic HBC Stripes Canoe.
Hudson's Bay commissioned Langford Canoe to create a commemorative canoe which includes their iconic signature stripes.
Red cedar planks and white cedar ribs.
Ash gunwales
Mahogany bow, stern decks, seats, handles.
Inspired by our classic multistripe blanket.
Canvas wrapping is a more traditional finishing method, and an art unto itself.
The canvas has to be applied, filled, primed & painted by hand
There are also three commemorative paddles (available in 57" and 60") including my favourite that has "Up the creek" etched on one side of the blade, and "With a paddle" on the other.
