Canadian Tire To Sell New HBC Stripe Canoes & Paddles

Canadian Tire (who purchased the intellectual property of the Hudson’s Bay Company in May of 2025) has announced 32 new products featuring the Hudon’s Bay Stripes. While only a handful of them have been officially announced, they all revolve around ‘summer living’ and backyard activities.

“The response from Canadians to the return of the Stripes exceeded our expectations, and this collection is about building on that momentum in a way that feels natural for how Canadians live, especially in the summer” - Eva Salem, SVP, Marketing and Brand, Canadian Tire Corporation

Two of the products to note are the HBC paddle and HBC cedar strip canoe which is made in Canada and will cost around $10,000 for the 16 foot model and about $6,000 for the nine foot model. They are custom made so there will be a lead time before they ship.

“It's a novelty item. We don't expect to do a big volume on canoes, but it makes sense that we offered it.” - Eva Salem, SVP, Marketing and Brand, Canadian Tire Corporation

All of the items will be available May 1st, 2026 at Canadian Tire stores across Canada and online.
