Alberta Parks Re-Opening Parks Effective May 1st, 2020

Alberta Parks Re-Opening Parks Effective May 1st, 2020

As of May 1st, 2020, Alberta Parks is lifting vehicle restrictions from their parks. While they are encouraging people to visit, they are suggesting that you only visit your local park and to continue physical distancing. The online campsite reservation system will reopen May 14th for campsite bookings starting June 1st.

Campground occupancy will be limited to 50 per cent capacity and will be open to Albertans only. Only individual and backcountry campsites can be reserved and a list of select campgrounds will be posted on Alberta Parks’ website on May 13th.

Alberta Parks is asking for your cooperation when camping in the backcountry as it has the potential to add unnecessary stress to the health care system and put public safety staff at risk, including exposure to COVID-19.
