Alberta Parks Still Haven't Opened Reservations For 2020

Frontcountry camping reservations for Alberta Parks ordinarily open the first week of February, but have yet to do so this year. The delay is being caused by a complete re-vamp to the reservation system to move it to handle “365-day booking capacity” which will allow people to reserve year-round.

We’re looking forward to welcoming campers to our parks this summer. 2020 reservation dates and times will be announced shortly, and we thank you for your patience while we finalize these.
— Jess Sinclair, spokesperson with Alberta Environment and Parks

The same booking restrictions will still apply…

  • group sites and comfort camping can be booked 180 days in advance

  • individual sites can be booked 90 days in advance

  • backcountry camping has no restrictions and can be booked any time

Tentatively the new reservation system will open in March, 2020.
