Ashes Still Water Boats has released its smallest boat to date. The 11’ pack canoe is intended to fill two particular needs in the market.

First and foremost, the Solo Packette is an easily portaged boat that anglers and explorers can wrangle through tough terrain to access hard to get to ponds and lakes. It’s also a design that those with limited space can build in their garages or basements.

I never realized how popular a boat this size could be until I offered the prototype to interested amateurs and we literally distributed more sets of drawings in the first day than for any other boat in 30 days.

Digital plans are $65 U.S.D. and printed plans are $85 U.S.D. If you’re not up to the challenge of making the boat yourself, Jon over at Backcountry Custom Canoes has the licence to build the hulls to custom order.

The hull is 11’ x 27” and careful builders should be able to keep her weight well under 25 pounds.  Those interested in learning more can see her complete specs here - The Ashes Solo Packette.
