Dehydrating: Pineapple

The tropical fruit, Pineapple is a sweet, juicy and healthy. Rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals, we can be pretty thankful that in today's day and age it is so easily accessible to us. Now take it one step further and take it with you on your next camping trip.

Twist off the leafy top, and lop off the top and bottom of the Pineapple so that it will sit flat. Go around the edge and shave off the skin with a large knife, while removing any of the little brown eyes with a paring knife. Chop up your pineapple into small chunks and space across your mesh drying trays.

Dry at 130°F (55°C) for 14 to 16 hours.

Toss dehydrated Pineapple in your next rice dish to spruce it up, desert dish to add a bit of sweetness, or munch on them as-is. They taste like candy.
