VISK Introduces Canoe Pitch

Talk about a throwback, VISK (a Canadian maker of some wonderful waxes whose ingredients are sourced and made in Canada) has added to their lineup a portable tin of canoe pitch. Perfect in a pinch for emergency canoe repair, it is made from a simple blend of pine resin, beeswax, and wood ash.
Warm the tin near a heat source until the pitch softens, then press it directly into cracks or seams using a flat tool. Smooth it into place and allow it to cool fully before testing.
For larger damage, reinforce the repair with a piece of cotton or canvas, working the pitch through the fabric to create a strong, sealed patch.
Applied in thin layers, VISK’s Canoe Pitch forms a durable, water-resistant bond.
Order your tin (and check out VISK’s other great products) on their website, Canadian Outdoor Equipment or a dealer near you.
