Trail Mix: Shout-Out to Darn Tough Socks

Trail Mix: Shout-Out to Darn Tough Socks

It’s not often that I have to send gear out for warranty repair. I’ve had a good run of excellently made products that just keep working. I feel that since warranty repairs are so few and far between, I want to give a shout out any time I have a good interaction with a company to share their excellent work.

My last shout-out was to Altitude-Sports & Fjallraven, and this time I want to tip my hat to Darn Tough Socks who are based in Vermont and make some fantastic wool socks.

Not only are Darn Tough socks not itchy, but they last forever! I wore this grey pair for years, through all four seasons, and they were always ready for the next adventure. Sadly after that much use, I wore through the heels and despite Darn Tough offering a lifetime warranty, I almost wanted to just continue wearing them.

There is a Darn Tough Canada website, and while it isn’t as robust as the U.S. site (which offers a full catalog of the different styles of socks that they manufacture right in Vermont) I do appreciate that they link to every outdoors store across Canada that carries their socks. There is a .PDF form you can download and fill out and within a few minutes you’ll be ready to pop your socks in the mail and ship them to B.C. (be sure to wash them first, no one wants to smell your campfunk!).

A little over a month later I got my brand new socks in the mail. They do their best to match up your pair with a current offering (the design might be slightly different) and now I’m ready to carry on adventuring knowing that I’ll have happy feet in the process. Thanks Darn Tough!
