Fundy National Park Closes Backcountry Camping Due To Hurricane Fiona

Fundy National Park has closed backcountry camping due to damage from strong winds and heavy rain thanks to Hurricane Fiona.

The impact on Fundy National Park included numerous downed trees, damaged power lines and high water levels. Park staff have been hard at work cleaning up the debris and clearing the roads and trails since Saturday morning but damages are still being assessed in more remote areas of the park.

Some infrastructures have been struck by fallen trees and high winds including oTENTiks and washroom facilities in the Chignecto campground. Significant damage was caused to the power line network in the Park.

Fundy is also cancelling bookings and refunding campers who have reserved a backcountry site.
