Backcountry Camping At Pacific Rim National Park Suspended Until 2021

Parks Canada has suspended backcountry camping at Pacific Rim National Park Reserve until April 30th, 2021…

Overnight backcountry experiences on the West Coast Trail and Broken Group Islands units in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve will remain suspended for the entire 2020 Season.

Through shared decision-making with local First Nations, Parks Canada will not be offering overnight experiences on the West Coast Trail (including Keeha Beach, Tapaltos, all other locations in the Cape Beale region and the Nitinaht Triangle) or in the Broken Group Islands for the 2020 season.

Parks Canada respects the commitment of local Nations to keep their communities safe. All reservations will be automatically cancelled with all fees refunded. We look forward to welcoming visitors back to the #WestCoastTrail and #BrokenGroupIslands in the future.

All camping reservations will automatically be cancelled and all fees refunded. All motorized and non-motorized vessels (including kayaks and covered canoes) are restricted from landing anywhere within the West Coast Trail Unit. Limited day-use activities in some areas are still available.
