Bruce Peninsula Temporarily Suspends Winter Camping *Updated*

January 15th, 2020: Parks Canada updated their temporary closure to fully suspending Winter Camping.


Bruce Peninsula National Park has temporarily suspended Winter Camping due to the COVID-19 lockdown in Ontario. The restrictions will run December 22nd, 2020 until further notice.

Parks Canada is following the advice and guidance of public health authorities and continues to make every effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The Province of Ontario indicated that restrictions may end Saturday, January 23, 2021, but that remains to be seen.

If you are visiting Bruce Peninsula for day use, remember…

  • Day users must self-register upon arrival

  • Please limit contact to your household (the people you live with) and stay at least 2 metres apart from everyone else

  • Most visitor facilities are closed

  • Winter camping is closed

  • Remember snow and ice can make the shoreline treacherous

  • Respect posted notices
