Bending Branches have announced the Catalyst ST, their first “sustainable canoe paddle”. Handcrafted in Osceola, WI U.S.A., this paddle is made from a combination of basswood, roasted basswood, red alder, and maple remnants from their first-quality paddles.
Meet the Catalyst, our new, sustainable canoe paddle. As a company of paddlers, we want to to do our part to keep our planet pristine. So, what a better first step than integrating sustainability into what we know best? The Catalyst is made of remnants from our first-quality paddles, reducing our excess material waste.
The Catalyst Straight weighs 623g (22 oz. and is available in lengths of 52 inches to 60 inches (in 2-inch increments). $5 from every paddle purchased will be donated to American Rivers non-profit.
It has full Full Rockgard coverage, a 57g (2 oz). fiberglass wrap and a Freestyle Palm Grip.
