R.I.P. "Uncle" Phil Cotton

Phil Cotton speaking at the Kitchener Waterloo Canoe Symposium in 2013

Sadly 'Uncle' Phil Cotton passed away this weekend (1940-2018). You might know him from his grassroots efforts to map the historical canoe routes and help maintain them in Wabakimi Provincial Park located in Northern Ontario.

He also urged people to put Wabakimi on their 'bucket list' of places to visit, and enjoy the boreal forest and numerous excellent places to canoe.

Most of the people come because they really believe that the canoe routes themselves are of value to our society
