Snowshoe Lending Program Kicks Off At 7 PEI Libraries

Krystal Dionne and Erin Lundrigan (library staff members) from the Montague Rotary Library

A fantastic endeavour has just launched at 7 PEI Public Library locations to encourage people to spend more time outdoors. In a similar vein to the growing 'lending libraries' initiative offering tools or other handy household items... each location has 4 pairs of snowshoes available in different sizes. All you need is a library card to participate. If you are in the area, be sure to check out...

As a public library, the PEI Public Library Service is committed to helping support the health and wellness of all Islanders. Through offering recreational equipment like snowshoes, we hope the library can help provide families with the chance to get active together while enjoying the beauty of the Province.
— Grace Dawson, Regional Librarian

Kudos to the PEI Public Library system for launching this project and we hope more libraries across Canada adopt this! To date, the PEI Public Library have received much interest and positive feedback from the public which is always great to hear as well.
