Sea to Sky Marine Trail Opening June 14th

The Sea to Sky Marine trail was an idea to connect B.C.'s Lower Mainland with the Sea to Sky trail (also as part of the BC Marine Trails Network and the Trans Canada Trail). There will be 10 camping sites accessible via kayak with the possibility of 7 additional sites to be added at a later date. The opening ceremonies are planned for June 14 at Nexen Beach.
The dream of a trail through the Sea to Sky Corridor in British Columbia, Canada has long held the imaginations of the residents of this region. The Sea to Sky Trail is the name of that vision. When complete the trail will run from kilometre zero at the Squamish waterfront, through Whistler, Pemberton and Mt Currie then on to D'Arcy on Anderson Lake. The total distance will be approximately 180 km (112 miles). This arterial trail of moderate grade is optimized for mountain bikes but suites hikers, runners, wheel-chairs, strollers, snow-shoers, cross country skiiers and other self propelled recreators and communters. The Sea to Sky Trail itself is 180KM of trail that runs from the Squamish waterfront, through Whistler, Pemberton and Mt Currie then on to D'Arcy on Anderson Lake.
