GSI Outdoors Is Owned By It's Original Family Again
While this happened a few months back I always enjoy hearing stories like this, especially in the outdoors market. The original founders of GSI Outdoors Don, Ian, and Kathy Scott have reacquired the company they created 41 years ago, after they sold it in 2022 to Pelican International.

Under the renewed leadership of the Scott family, the company plans to focus on its core mission: creating technical, innovative, and fun outdoor gear that brings people together around a campfire or a kitchen table.
Along with this news they have also hired Shawn Hostetter as CEO who has spent much of his career in leadership roles at Katadyn, where he oversaw outdoor cooking and hard goods products, among others. Shawn describes the new 2027 product lineup as being “very impressive”, including a new way to cook artisan pizzas in the backcountry.
