Quetico Backcountry Entry Closed Due To Forest Fires (July 2026)

Quetico Provincial Park has officially closed the entries to the backcountry due to a nearby forest fire.

To receive a penalty-free refund, please call the Ontario Parks reservations team at 1-888-668-7275. Do not cancel or change reservations online as the re-opening date hasn’t been established yet. Affected campsite reservation holders will be contacted and given a full refund or the opportunity to change their
reservation (on availability) with no penalty.

The park will reassess on July 18th, 2026 to determine if further cancellations are required. For help rerouting your canoe trip call the Quetico Provincial Park Information Line at 807-597-2735.
