"One last canoe trip in late fall, before the lakes begin to freeze up. They chose Deerock Lake Conservation Area in Flinton, Ontario. The lake is on Crown land and has 26 unmaintained campsites. There a public boat launch ($16 per day fee). The area is also home to the Elzevir Peatlands Conservation Reserve, protecting a great portion of one of the largest peatland complexes in southern Ontario."
