YKK Launches First New Zipper Design With TNF Summit Series Advanced Mountain Kit

Japanese zipper manufacturer YKK has launched their first new zipper in roughly 100 years with the brand new YKK AiryString. Zippers as we know them have a fabric strip attached to both sides of the teeth but the new tapeless zipper not only is lighter, but reduces fiber use, water consumption and CO2 emissions.

One of the first manufactures to incorporate the new zipper is The North Face who are including it with their new Summit Series Advanced Mountain Kit. This includes the AMK Cloud Down Parka, the AMK Futurelight Jacket and the AMK Downknit Hoodie.
