The 2022 Frostbite! Symposium Has Been Cancelled

Sadly the Winter camping symposium Frostbite! has been cancelled for 2022.

This winter seems to be delayed in its arrival, the lakes in Central Alberta are ice free, snow has existed as only suggestions, but the leaves have left their branches and the snow geese are gathering in the ponds, marshes and fields. That can only mean that winter is coming, and the Frostbite weekend is getting much closer.

Brian and David have met numerous times to develop ideas and alternatives and we have reached the 1st of November deadline to let everyone know the final plans. At present our venue, Foothills Camp and Retreat Centre is not accepting rentals. This, among many other factors, has forced the cancellation of Frostbite! 2022.

Over the coming months we will be releasing the date and location of a Frostbite! community campout on Crown Land. This will be an opportunity for winter enthusiasts and hot tenters to gather for a weekend of camaraderie and fun, without the hassle of schedules and registrations. So stay tuned for that one.

Cancellation is certainly not the outcome that anyone had hoped and planned for, but under the present Public Health challenges in Alberta it is the only decision that can be made. We look forward to seeing you folks at various gatherings over the coming year, and know that you will return to Frostbite! when conditions permit.

Have a fabulous winter.
