Canadian Canoe Museum Offering 'Upscale Campfire Cooking' Course

The Canadian Canoe Museum announced their 2016 lineup of workshops (you can check out the entire lineup here) and one notable addition is Upscale Campfire Cooking with Chef Amanda Harrison being offered in April.

"We will start the night with a high protein veggie walnut pate, served with flax and sweet potato crackers.  These snacks can be prepared in advance of a camping trip and Amanda will show you how.  Next, we will serve fresh rainbow trout, with a lesson on filleting fresh fish.  We will season the fish with an herbed compound butter and show you how to cook it over the coals in a salt crust.  The fish will be served with grilled polenta and a fire roasted tomato sauce.  For dessert, a real treat, decadent chocolate hazelnut cake, baked in an orange over the open fire.  Bon appetit!"

It is $45 to sign up, (or $40 for members) and it is offered on April 30th, 2016 6 to 8 p.m.
