Kettle Creek Environmental Trust Wants To "ReWild" A Family

Kettle Creek Environmental Trust in St. Thomas, Ontario is asking for nominations for a local family that hasn’t experienced camping before.

Unfortunately, the magic of camping, stargazing, and campfire conversations is out of reach for some families. KCET wants to help ReWild families who have never camped before due to financial or social hardship. Apply or nominate a family for a chance to win a free weekend of camping and all the gear.

The winning family that is chosen to “re-wild” will be provided with a free weekend of camping at Dalewood Conservation Area, a mentor for the weekend to teach them how to pitch a tent, build a campfire, cook a meal and all the equipment so they can repeat the experience on their own.

Kettle Creek Environmental Trust (KCET) believes every child should have the opportunity to sleep out under the stars, roast a marshmallow – connect with nature. The Re-Wild the Family program helps families experiencing a nature deficit do just that.

Nominees must have an Elgin County address. Applications are being accepted until available spots are filled.
