Trans Canada Trail Countdown to Connection

The Trans Canada Trail started in 1992 during Canada's 125th Anniversary. It is the world’s longest network of multi-use recreational trails and slated to be complete on July 1st, 2017. When it is completed, it will stretch 23,000 kilometres from the Atlantic to the Pacific to the Arctic Oceans, through every province and territory, "linking over 1000 communities and all Canadians".

There is a countdown clock on the Trans Canada Trail homepage counting down to Canada's 150th, which will also commemorate the Trail's 25th anniversary. There is approximately 6,200 KM to go and you can donate to help complete this project.
