Trail Mix: Lock Up Your Canoes!
As Canadian’s are stuck adventuring closer to home, a welcome trend is that canoeing is on the rise. Not only have the orders for canoes increased, but the used market has exploded. Canoes are selling within hours of the ad being posted, and (sadly) the prices of used canoes are being jacked up. The worst trend however, is that canoe theft is also on the rise. Just this week a canoe was stolen right off a person’s front driveway.
Be sure to be extra diligent around your canoe and keep it locked up when you aren’t using it. Even a cheap bicycle cable lock is enough of a deterrent to stop someone from walking off with it when you’re out in public. If you’re leaving it unattended on top of your vehicle there are even lockable tie down straps that you can order online.
