Alberta Parks Bans Campfires In Response To COVID-19

Alberta Parks has implemented a fire ban in all of their provincial parks and protected areas as of April 15th, 2020. All open fires, including campfires and charcoal briquettes are prohibited however you can still use portable propane fire pits contained within designated fire pits and gas or propane stoves and barbeques designed for cooking or heating.

Last year, 71% of wildfires were human-caused and entirely preventable. These measures will help the province effectively focus its wildfire resources during the pandemic.
