Yakima Is Celebrating 40 Years Of Carrying Your Gear

Yakima Racks started back in 1979 when outdoor fanatics Don Banducci and Steve Cole came up with the idea in a Yakima Valley machine shop. By 1984, they put Yakima on the map at the Summer Olympics, decking out every race vehicle with original aerodynamic fairings. This year marks their 40th Anniversary.

Since 1979, outdoor enthusiasts have relied on Yakima to safely and easily transport the gear they use to do the things they love. We are humbled and honored to have been along on countless adventures over the past forty years.
— Joel Grabenstein, Yakima’s Senior Director of Marketing
