Don't Forget To Leave A Note

When I got back to the parking lot after a recent Winter camping trip, I noticed a note attached to the driver's side window of the truck parked next to me. At first I thought it was one of those one-page descriptions of a vehicle's features that you see in car lots at dealerships, so I thought I'd go have a look. I've 'redacted' out the information but it read as follows...

“Heading solo into the Uplands Friday 17 March to return early afternoon Sunday 19.

Taking left trail at split heading towards Maple Leaf Lake but stopping before Leach Lake”

What a wonderful idea! It included his name, phone number and his emergency contact name and numbers. We always let friends and family know where we are headed before venturing out on a trip (no matter how short), but this extra step is a great example of providing information in case of an emergency that would really help in a time of need.
