Sojourn's September Hikes and Trips

Outdoors store Sojourn in Barrie has three trips planned in September that you can take part in.

McCrae Lake Combo Trip - September 9th

"Hike in and canoe out or canoe in and hike out – all in the same day! Steady to moderate pace hike with hilly, rough terrain and a moderate paddle pace. The group will divide at the trailhead (some with canoes and some with hiking boots) and then meet at the Narrows along the shoreline a few hours later for lunch & a swim. This is where we will switch places and then meet back at the cars. How fun is that? McCrae Lake is known for it’s diversity of breathtaking cliff-top vistas over the wind swept shores of limestone rock and the colonies of blue heron nesting in the low areas. Sojourn supplies the canoes you bring your hiking boots! Cost: $50 per person (bring your own lunch)."

Kolapore Uplands Trillium Hike - September 16th

"Explore the cliffs and valleys of the Duncan Crevice Caves Nature Reserve as well as Metcalfe Rock by Kolapore. Home to ancient dwarfed cedar trees that grow from limestone cliffs. Adventurous climbers are often sighted scaling Metcalfe Rock. COST: $12 per person (bring your own lunch)"

Pretty River Valley - September 29th

"This hike will explore the cliff sides and valleys of the Pretty River and Osler Bluffs. The area provides a wonderful vista of the Nottawasaga Bay looking out at the edge of Collingwood. Starting at the river valley we will make a big climb up to the bluffs. It is long and steady climb thru the forest & over the limestone outcrops that takes us high atop the Niagara Escarpment. Great photo opportunities along the trail so bring your camera! Date: June 16 & Sept. 29 Cost: $ 12 (bring your own lunch)"
