Peterborough Converts Cycling Lane into Mountain Bike Trail

Much to the surprise of road cyclists, the City of Peterborough has converted the roadside cycling lanes on Monaghan Road to mountain biking trails. This trail runs the length of Monaghan Road and runs directly into Jackson Park.

After the tremendous feedback from the recent Peterborough Bicycle Summit, Peterborough City Officials commented that 2011 is the year to make mountain biking more accessible.

We hear you loud and clear Peterborough. Mountain Biking will be a draw for riders and trail enthusiasts from all around Ontario

Trucks and trucks of dirt have been emptied into the roadside lanes to make the ride challenging with rolling hills which will make the morning commute more interesting.
