The 2016 Kejimkujik Canoe Fest Is August 20th & 21st and both days are chock full of activities...

Saturday, August 20th 

  • Jake’s Landing
    • 11 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm / FREE Tandem and Solo Canoe Clinics and Kayak Clinics. Keji Outfitters is providing discounted rental rates for anyone who participates in a clinic. Sign up at Jake’s Landing. 
    • 1 pm / PaddleSmart Presentation 
    • 2 pm / Leave no Trace Presentation. Presented by Leave no Trace Canada 
    • 11 am and 1 pm / Cold Water Survival clinics. Presented by the Canadian Red Cross 
    • 3 pm / Canoe Over Canoe Rescue Clinic. Presented by the Canadian Red Cross 
    • 4 pm / Kids friendly kayak clinic. Sign up at Jake’s Landing. 
    • 11 am to 4 pm / Paddle-making demonstration by Rod Lake. Enter draw for free paddle! 
    • 7:30 pm / Mersey Sunset Flotilla. Join Paul and other passionate paddlers for a moonlight paddle on the Mersey. Bring your canoe and kayaks and a waterproof flashlight. 
  • Meadows Beach
    • 3 pm / Learn-to Stand Up Paddle. Sign up at the Visitor Centre 
  • Amphitheatre 
    • 8 pm / Film: Waterwalker. This documentary follows naturalist Bill Mason on his journey by canoe into the Ontario Wilderness. Features breathtaking visuals and exciting whitewater footage, with a musical score by Bruce Cockburn. Theatre located in Jeremy’s Bay Campground P2. (90 minutes) 
  • Sky Circle
    • 9:30 pm / Dark Sky Telescope Viewing. Gaze upon starlit skies and explore the ways stars have guided us through the ages. Lesley and Colleen will help you discover what's going on in the sky tonight. 


Sunday, August 21st

  • Merrymakedge Beach
    • 5:30 am / Sunrise Paddle. Led by Rod Lake from Canoe Kayak Nova Scotia. Bring your canoes and kayaks. The paddle will go from Merrymakedge Beach to Peale Island and back. 
  • Meadows Beach
    • 9 am / Stand Up Paddle Yoga. Sign Up at the Visitor Centre  
  • Jake’s Landing 
    • 11 am / Kayak rolling clinic
    • 1 pm / Cold Water Survival clinic. Presented by the Canadian Red Cross 
    • 1:30 pm / Leave no Trace Presentation. Presented by Leave no Trace Canada 
    • 2:30 pm / Canoe Over Canoe Rescue Clinic. Presented by the Canadian Red Cross
